At our first meeting of the term, we will be learning the Makotokoma, a modular spinning top designed by Makato Yamaguchi. This simple yet elegant model is made from three equal sized squares. After completing this model, we will continue to fold while discussing our plans for the rest of the semester.
In addition, OrigaMIT has two open officer positions that still need to be elected for the coming semester. First is the Historian who is in charge of taking pictures at meetings/events and recording minutes. Second is the Office Manager who is in charge of stocking and maintaining the OrigaMIT library, paper supply, and permanent model collection. We will elect these positions at this first meeting; if you are interested in seeking an officer position, please email origami-info@mit.edu and prepare a short statement. Freshman are encouraged to run!
As always, paper will be provided with access to a substantial origami book library! Come learn to fold something!
This week brought together over an entire room full of origami enthusiasts!
